Lebanon, home to a rich Christian heritage dating back to the earliest days of the Church, is now offering pilgrims a new way to explore its sacred sites. Inspired by Spain’s famed Camino de Santiago, 'Caminos Lebanon' is a network of four hiking trails that connect historic and religious landmarks across the country’s diverse landscape. The initiative highlights Lebanon’s remarkable religious diversity, with over 6,000 Christian and Muslim sites, and is designed to revitalize religious tourism and provide an opportunity for cultural exploration. A collaboration between the government and Caminos Lebanon, the project has received strong support from Lebanon’s Ministry of Tourism, which seeks to open it to international visitors. Despite ongoing regional challenges, Lebanese youth and organizers remain steadfast in their hope and commitment to the project. One of the trails, 'Raya’s Camino of Hope,' is designed specifically for young people, drawing inspiration from St. Philip Neri’s 'Seven Churches' pilgrimage. As the Church celebrates the Jubilee Year under the theme 'Pilgrims of Hope,' Caminos Lebanon stands as an invitation for believers and travelers alike to rediscover Lebanon’s sacred landscapes.
