Today, I want to chat about something that’s been making waves in some Christian circles—this whole 'Name it and Claim it' form of prayer. You’ve probably heard Prosperity preachers talking about how prayer is basically just declaring what you want, quoting some Bible verses, and then expecting God to deliver, almost like He’s a cosmic vending machine. Insert a verse, push a button, and boom—your blessing pops out! But here’s the thing—this approach has raised a lot of eyebrows, even outside the Church. In fact, a Hindu preacher from the U.S. recently called it out, saying that just reciting or writing down prayers over and over is pointless if you’re not willing to obey God’s will.
I’m Joseph Dinesh, a Catholic commentator based in Sydney, Australia. On this channel, I explore cultural events through the enduring wisdom of the Catholic faith.
