In a November 2024 interview, Most Rev. Michael F. Burbidge of Arlington discusses his favorite saints, the significance of his pectoral cross, his episcopal motto, and the work of an ordinary bishop to teach, sanctify, and govern. Bishop Burbidge also tells us about his discernment to the priesthood, the early years of his vocation, receiving the call to become a bishop, and the differences between his home diocese of Philadelphia and the dioceses of Raleigh and Arlington. Bishop Burbidge concluded his term as Chairman of the Pro-Life Committee in 2024 and discussed the importance of the Committee's work in the mission of the Church and our call to recognize the inherent dignity of all people especially the most vulnerable.
