A new report says that in recent years in Europe, there have been nearly 2,500 documented hate crimes against Christians. This comes amid the annual commemoration of a global initiative to highlight persecuted Christians. Today is Red Wednesday and hundreds of cathedrals, churches, monuments and public buildings light up in red. It is part of the annual campaign by the papal foundation Aid to the Church in Need. It launched in 2016 to shed light on Christian persecution and emphasize the importance of religious freedom as a fundamental human right. The Director of Outreach for Aid to the Church in Need, Ed Clancy, tells us more about this initiative and how many countries took part this year. Clancy shares more about the relationship with the Church of England. He discusses what the significance is of having Red Wednesday in November. Clancy gives us a snapshot of Christian persecution around the world.
