A groundbreaking study released today reveals alarming findings about the abortion pill, mifepristone, showing that one in ten patients experiences serious health issues. The study, conducted by the Ethics and Public Policy Center, analyzed over 865,000 prescribed mifepristone abortions between 2017 and 2023, with nearly 11% of women experiencing sepsis, infection, or hemorrhaging within the first 45 days of use. The probe is calling for an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration. Ryan Anderson, president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and co-author of the study, joins to discuss why the study was conducted now and whether the findings surprised him. He shares what specific actions he would like to see from the Trump administration's FDA regarding mifepristone and whether he believes these findings might change the hearts and minds of people who think the abortion pill is as safe as Tylenol.
