In the Middle East, a sudden wave of Israeli airstrikes has thrust Gaza back into chaos. Gaza's Health Ministry reports that over 400 people have been killed, with hundreds more injured. Hamas has condemned the airstrikes, claiming that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement and putting the fate of the remaining Israeli hostages at risk. Israel says the move has been made in coordination with the White House and is placing the blame squarely on Hamas. Ambassador James Jeffery, former ambassador to Turkey and Iraq and Chair of the Middle East Program at the Wilson Center, joins to discuss what is behind Israel's actions and why they have ended the ceasefire. He also shares insight into what Hamas' response might be.
