In the John 7 Gospel readings the last few days Jesus taught about the "rivers of living water" that will flow from His followers. This preaching was in the Temple during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. The climactic Temple ceremony for the Feast was a water-pouring ceremony. The connections are profound.
