As the war in Ukraine continues, a special envoy from the Trump White House, Steve Witkoff, has traveled to Saint Petersburg for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging acceptance of a ceasefire proposal. The White House has called the war “terrible and senseless,” as President Trump urges Russia to “get moving” on peace. Meanwhile, Russia currently maintains the advantage in Ukraine. Ukraine has already agreed to the U.S.-backed ceasefire deal, to which Russia has added further conditions. European allies have pledged billions more to support the war effort in Ukraine. Steven Moore, President of the Ukraine Freedom Project, joins to discuss where things stand regarding the ceasefire and Europe’s role moving forward in the war. Lastly, he shares whether the president will increase pressure on Russia amid the ongoing negotiations.
