Mt 21:33–34

There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.

St. Josemaría comments on this parable:

“I would like to concentrate on the phrase ‘he went on a journey’. We Christians must not abandon the vineyard where God has placed us. We must direct our energies to the work before us, toiling in the winepress. If we were to give in to comfort, it would be like telling Jesus, ‘Look, my time is mine, not yours. I don’t want to tie myself down to looking after your vineyard.’
