And today, I need to call out something deeply troubling—Fr. James Martin’s blatant misrepresentation of Scripture on immigration.** Let’s be real—immigration is one of the most explosive, emotionally charged debates in America right now. It’s not just about policy—it’s about people. It’s about morality. And as Catholics, we need to get this right. We’ve got two extreme sides battling it out.
👉 On one end, the hardline right says, “No foreigners, no exceptions,” pushing for strict immigration policies in the name of national security and economic stability.
👉 On the other end, the radical left demands, “Open borders for all!” arguing that any form of immigration control is uncharitable and even un-Christian.
But here’s the truth: Neither of these extremes fully align with Catholic teaching. The Church doesn’t take a simplistic, one-sided approach. Instead, it upholds a balanced, reasoned perspective that embraces both justice and charity—protecting the vulnerable while also upholding the rule of law. And that’s exactly why I was shocked and disappointed when I saw Fr. James Martin twisting Scripture to push one of these extremes
