We live our earthly life as if a veil covers it. So much of reality is forever unknown to us- especially regarding our faith. Take the Eucharist for example, when we receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, we may feel that "warm fuzzy" feeling at times, but it is not the general reaction when we receive our Lord. Does this mean that the Eucharist and its salvific power and effects are not real?
In this sixth video essay, Dr. Regis Martin addresses this question and dives into the bigger question of believing things one cannot see—faith. Regis Martin explores the concept of the veil that covers our understanding, its necessity in this life and the gifts it can bring, and how to navigate through it.
